| Matcho is designed for the use of certain sporting clubs (eg. tennis, squash, badminton, bowling, snooker, billiards, pool) which have a requirement to organise singles or doubles matches for 'social' play. It is NOT 'tournament' software - rather, given the input of venues, times & player (sex & grade) details, it strives to generate 'rounds' of quality matches based on 'controlled randomness'.
Using Tennis parlance as an example, a procedural overview might be...
- An 'Event' would be constructed by inputting the times of forthcoming Sets - say, for an afternoon's play. Players would then declare their availability to play in these Sets. Courts would then be allocated for the 'Event' together with their order of use.
- Just prior to the start of a Set, matches for that Set would be 'generated'. These would then be reviewed, and maybe partially or fully re-generated, or manually altered prior to publication.
- As the 'Event' progresses Matcho would strive to match players either 'automatically' or as determined by given parameters. Throughout, it would continually analyse both players and matches and warn of matches that were potentially 'unacceptable'.
Matcho is a tool with which to gather and display data and automate processes - however, its 'unique' capability is its ability to highlight and focus attention on areas of interest in order to maximise user 'judgment and experience'.
This simple overview belies the sophistication of both the functionality and the software design.
Amongst other things, for instance -
- The functionality allows for the capturing of scores; the 'bulk' input of information eg. from another database; and the display of details not just on a printed sheet but also on another monitor or projector.
- The software makes comprehensive use of 'drag and drop'; intuitive 'colour coding'; and visual and audible function cues.
In short, it represents a state-of-the-art multi-media solution.
If you think that your club could benefit from this functionality and you would like further details - download the ReadMe.rtf file, print and read THOROUGHLY.
If (after reading the above file) you would like to try a free 'demo' of Matcho - download the MatchoDemo.zip file and follow the instructions in the above file.
